On Wednesday August 10th, 3 Delicious Red Hatters started out to a secret place for a Bubbly Picnic.
We met Duchess Dianna at the Big Y Café. Then we were given directions to meet at Mineral Springs Café. There we met 22 other Red Hatters from Ellensburg, Yakima, East Wenatchee, and Leavenworth. Queen Audi of the Cascade Contessas led the way. We ended up in the little town of Liberty, which is now the home of 14 residents.
We celebrated the August birthdays of three Red Hat Sisters. Nancy of the Cascade Contessas was dubbed Princess Nancy by Queen Audi. Also fun gifts and thoughts were presented by Queen Audi. We had a very nice lunch and Wes, a local resident and historian, presented a slide show on gold mining and the ordeal of keeping Liberty as a town.
We met former Chelan resident Darlene Kilgore, now a member of a Yakima Chapter. Darlene was sitting at our table and I said to Jeanne..."that looks like Darlene". Jeanne said she thought the same. Soon she asked where we were from and when we said Chelan the fun began. Bubbly, knowledge, good food and sisterhood are all part of the Red Hat Society.
What a great adventure!!!! Thanks Cascade Contessas
! (They have also shared some photos with us, 16 through 22)
